The history of Baccarat dates back more than 250 years, when in 1764 King Louis XV of France signed a decree establishing a glass factory in the village of Baccarat, in the East of France. The plant produced glass cups, mirrors and other glass items. Thus began the history of the brand, which has become a symbol of France and sophisticated French style.

The first Baccarat crystal oven appeared on November 15, 1816, when the factory recruited local workers. Already in 1823, the factory received its first major order – a service for the King of France, Louis XVIII. Baccarat customers are representatives of the richest and most famous families in France. Many sets from Baccarat to this day adorn the tables of the Elysee Palace.

In 1827, Baccarat was the first in France to make a crystal chandelier. Among the fans of Baccarat at different times were the King of France Louis XVIII, Charles X, Louis-Philippe, Napoleon and many other kings and presidents, pontiffs, Arab sheikhs. Since the 1990s, Baccarat has collaborated with famous designers, each of whom contributes to the history of the fashion house. To this day, all the sparkling masterpieces from Baccarat are made by hand, striking with their brilliance, transparency and sharpness of the edges.

Crystal “Baccarat” is the pride and national treasure of France. Therefore, in 1988, the Crystal Museum was opened in Paris, where You can see antique chandeliers, floor lamps and antique interior items made of colored and transparent, sparkling crystal. “And what do You want, there is something in Baccarat that cannot be stepped over or thrown back,” says Philippe Starck, who has been working with the brand for many years. “It’s mathematics, mystery and poetry rolled into one. Crystal, of course. Baccarat really gives the opportunity to admire the beautiful and timeless art, which keeps an incredible history of material, craftsmen, production.
